St. Elmo Board Adopts Back to School Plan

St. Elmo school board members acted on a variety of items at this week's meeting.

The Board approved the district's tentative back to school plan for the coming year. Also approved were two contracts with Merz Heating and Air Conditioning, one for the addition of cooling to the high school gym systems, the other for the replacement of duct work at the high school. 

In addition to awarding contracts to various vendors for commodities, the Board approved the purchase of two pre-owned buses from the Effingham Unit 40 school district, and approved the purchase of a 10-passenger van.

In personnel moves, the St. Elmo board accepted the resignation of Ken Berg as a full-time bus driver, employed Mandy Totten as high school Agriculture teacher, and employed Logan Mahon as high school Social Studies teacher. Rae Lynn Koehler was hired as high school head cook, Brittany Strobel was employed as elementary cook, Mindy Healy was hired as full time bus driver, Cynthia Carroll was employed as district bookkeeper, Jamie Wilson was hired as junior high softball assistant coach, and Sam Plum was hired as 7th grade boys basketball coach.
