Return to school guidelines for the coming year were approved Monday by the Teutopolis Board of Education.

Teutopolis Superintendent Matt Sturgeon said the District will operate in accordance with Centers for Disease Control guidelines. Those guidelines indicate that masks are recommended for those unvaccinated individuals. Sturgeon said as a result, masks are not required for students during the school day; that is a decision for parents.

Masks, however, will be required on public transportation, such as school buses, as that is still a part of the CDC guidelines.

Sturgeon said the District will continue to monitor those CDC guidelines.

Also at Teutopolis Monday, the Board authorized the disposal or sale of surplus property; and accepted a quote from Larry Heuerman Trucking to oil and chip the high school bus parking lot.

In personnel moves, the Teutopolis board accepted resignations from Jeff Niebrugge as high school bass fishing coach, Morgan Mette as high school boys track coach, and Rob Bothwell as high school fall baseball coach.

Those hired include Eric Roley as 7th grade girls basketball coach, Jenni Dittamore as high co-cheer coach, Jordan Pals as 8th grade girls basketball coach, and Justin Kowalski and Manny Wei as high school volunteer assistant golf coaches. The Board approved Tessa Philpot as a student teacher within the high school English department for the fall semester, and approved non-union position pay increases.
