Storm Sirens Sounding Northwest of Town Were a Test

The storm sirens northwest of town sounding this morning were part of a test of the sirens.

Listeners near Lake Sara phoned to ask about the sirens sounding. We checked with the Effingham County Sheriff's Department and they said tests were being done by a company hired to keep the sirens in working order.
