Effingham City Plan Commission members have given the okay to a site plan for an additional hangar building at Effingham County Memorial Airport.

The hangar building will be located south of an existing hangar building west of the terminal and will be north of the east-west runway taxiway. The building will be large enough to house corporate jet traffic.

Commission members also recommended to the City Council approval of a special use permit for a medical facility for Theresa Loy. The facility is to be located in an existing building at 423 West Virginia Avenue, in the block of Virginia east of HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital.

City Engineer Luke Thoele said the project would involve renovation of the existing building, as well as additional parking.
