Dale and Jeanne Wolff surprised Effingham County 4-H families this year with a new painting to hang during Fair Week.

There has been a work that Jeanne had painted many years ago. 4-H members have used the painting as a backdrop when getting their photos taken.

Effingham County 4-H Extension Leader Patti Logan said Jeanne felt it was time for a new start and to get everyone excited for this year's fair. She created a new painting that will be displayed in the 4-H Show Arena.

Logan said awareness about the sign caused a lot of excitement so, when word got around that the Wolffs would be dropping off the painting at the fairgrounds at Altamont, many young people showed up to get their first peak at the artwork and to thank Dale and Jeanne in person.

The painting will be a welcome addition to the 4-H Building at the Fairgrounds. Jeanne's original work will remain on display in the General Projects Building.

The 2021 Effingham County Fair will run from July 31-August 7 at Altamont.
