Altamont Resident Hospitalized Following Crash

An Altamont resident was hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 35-year-old Frances Deadmond was northbound on 300th Street, a quarter-mile north of 600th Avenue in Mound Township when the crash occurred at 5:57pm.

Deputies say Deadmond lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway to the right. Deadmond overcorrected and the car back onto the roadway and then exited the roadway to the left. The car then struck a utility pole.

Deadmond was transported to HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
