Cowden-Herrick school board members took action related to the coming year at this month's meeting.

The Board approved the tentative 2021-2022 budget for public inspection, and voted to set school fees.

Board members also accepted bids for two used buses, and then purchased a 14-passenger bus through the State purchasing plan. It was also agreed to acquire combination desks with attached chairs as well as chairs for just under $34,000.

The Board appointed Zach Sarver as Eastern Illinois Area Special Education governing board member and appointed Rita Prosser as alternate. The District's Back to School plan was also approved, as were resignations from Connor Wachtel and Pam Mahaffey. The Board also hired Brent Reardon as high school Social Studies teacher.
