Altamont school board members Monday discussing formation of a curriculum committee.

Martin Reyes was chosen to serve as the school board member on the committee.

The Board approved a Back to School letter to be shared with district parents stating the District's intention on how to return to school for the upcoming year. Board members also accepted resignations from non-certified employees Dusty Miller, Dwight Sutter and Natalie Hill; and approved hiring non-certified employees Michelle Wagner and Stephanie Hudgens. The Board accepted extra-curricular resignations from Scott Klingler, Brittany Hires and Robbie Kline, and approved an extra-curricular hiring of Jim Corrona.

Altamont board members also agreed to recognize the Juneteenth holiday beginning in 2022. If the holiday falls on a weekend, it will be observed on the following Monday. Final action on the matter will be taken once the Board gets a Memorandum of Understanding prepared for the District non-certified union. The Board authorized new District Superintendent Casey Adam to begin work on the budget for the new fiscal year, and approved a sports boosters gym flag.

Board members introduced new Ag instructor Alex Walden, and voted to approve the purchase of a utility vehicle to be used in both maintenance and athletics.
