Hearing on Waste Transfer Station Near Brownstown Postponed

A scheduled public hearing Monday concerning the siting of a solid waste transfer station near Brownstown was postponed.

Chris Sutter of Countryside Disposal, who has asked for the siting to be approved, requested that the hearing be postponed. 

The Fayette County Board is expected to meet Wednesday afternoon to consider a new date for the hearing.

The question of siting the transfer station just off Illinois Route 185, south of Brownstown, has been a topic since at least March.
