Two people were injured when two vehicles collided Wednesday in Effingham County.
The crash occurred on US 40 at 450th Street, east of Altamont. State police say a truck driven by 52-year-old Richard Meyers of Teutopolis rear-ended a car driven by 41-year-old Robert Hayes of Effingham when Hayes slowed to turn off the highway.
Two passengers in the Hayes vehicle, 20-year-old Cayla Hayes and 13-year-old Celia Hayes of Effingham were injured in the crash and were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Meyers was cited for following too closely. Robert Hayes was arrested after it was found he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
