Polls Open on Election Day

Polls are open on this Election Day 2013.

The polls will be open until 7pm.  Voters will be helping decide who is elected to school boards throughout Illinois, as well as park boards and community college boards.

In Effingham Unit 40, there are seven candidates for three seats on the school board.  Those are incumbents Galen Altman and Brian Wick as well as challengers Laurie King, Jim Keith, Steve Bone, James Osborn and K.L. Cleeton.  Incumbent Brad Meinhart is not seeking another term.

Stewardson-Strasburg school district residents will be deciding whether the Board can raise the maximum rate of their property tax levy.
