Unit 40 Schools Release Statement Regarding Recent Allegations

The Effingham Unit 40 School District released a statement Wednesday regarding the health and safety of students in the district and recent allegations.

Here is the statement, as released:

"All of us at Effingham Unit #40 consider the health and safety of our students as our top priority. We are aware of a recent incident involving one of our students as well as some very serious allegations.

First and foremost, the recovery and wellbeing of the student is on the hearts and minds of all of us. The people that make up the faculty and administration at Unit #40 share a passion to teach, support and grow the children of our community.

Again, the District takes these matters very seriously and will investigate matters thoroughly to protect the safety, integrity and trust of our students, faculty, administration and community."
