An Effingham man was sentenced Thursday to two years in prison for Mob Action.

26-year-old Jesse S. Tucker pled guilty to the count in exchange for dismissal of a charge of aggravated battery to a pregnant person and criminal damage to property.

The offense occurred last October in the 700 block of Clinton Avenue in Effingham as part of a fight involving multiple subjects. Witnesses told police that Tucker and two co-defendants had battered the victim and then caused damage to the victim's vehicle. The three then fled the scene.

Tucker was given credit for having 202 days in the county jail while awaiting disposition of his case. He will be placed on one year mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

The co-defendants' cases are yet to be resolved.
