(GLASS)

The murder trial of Christopher Glass of Mason was confirmed Tuesday to begin on May 24.

Glass is accused of the shooting death of Kimberly Mattingly in April 2020, then helping dispose of her body on property near Beecher City.

A series of pre-trial motions were considered during a hearing Tuesday. At this point, the trial will take place in Effingham County. If there is difficulty in picking a jury because of awareness about the case, Glass could request a change of venue for the trial outside of Effingham County.

Glass faces four Class M felony counts of murder, as well as concealing homicidal death, and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

A co-defendant, Aaron Kaiser of Beecher City, was earlier convicted assisting in burying Mattingly's body on his family's property and of lying to authorities about the matter. He was sentenced to 8-1/2 years in prison.
