A Teutopolis resident was injured in a crash west of Effingham late Sunday night.

The crash happened at 11:22pm on US Route 40, just west of 1075th Street in Summit Township.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 20-year-old Skylor Rohr was eastbound when Rohr lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve in the road. Rohr's car continued straight and ran off the road and struck the ditch. The car overturned in the ditch three times before coming to rest, and then catching fire.

Rohr was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Rohr was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
