The Altamont Board of Education Tuesday hired Mrs. Casey Adam as the Altamont district's next superintendent.

Mrs. Adam currently serves as principal of Pana High School, where she is the educational leader for approximately 400 students and 50 staff members and led the development of their STEM program.

Altamont School Board President Kerry Wolff said, "Mrs. Adam is the right person, at the right time, with outstanding teaching and administrative experiences, and well-honed leadership skills. We expect she will have great success as she focuses on strengthening student opportunities and outcomes here in Altamont."

Adam will succeed Jim Littleford, who has been serving as interim superintendent at Altamont since the district parted ways with Steve Mayerhofer earlier this year. A person previously offered the job withdrew after concerns were raised in the community about his past.
