Nine New Positive COVID Cases in County Reported Tuesday

Effingham County Health Department Tuesday reported nine new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease.

There were two new cases on Monday, and seven new cases on Tuesday.

As far as the demographic breakdown, there were two males, one in his teens and one in his 50s on Monday, and on Tuesday, six males, one in his teens, one in his 20s, two in his 40s and two in his 70s, and one female under age 10.

Illinois Region 6 rolling test positivity was 2.4% through March 27, while Effingham County was up to 4.4% for the same period.

As we head into the Easter Holiday the Effingham County Health Department would like to warn the local community of a resurgence in cases and suggest taking advantage of the good weather this weekend to take gatherings outside and remind people to social distance, wash hands thoroughly and wear masks.
