Cowden-Herrick school board members Thursday approved the 2021-2022 school calendar.

Things will begin with a Teacher Institute on August 16 and the first day of student attendance will be August 17. The last student attenance day will be May 18, 2022. The Board also amended the current school year calendar to conform with the emergency days taken.

Board members approved a bid from Effingham Asphalt to asphalt the Herrick campus parking lot and driveway, and accepted a mowing bid from Jim Allsop for the Herrick and Cowden campuses. Mason's Masonry Restoration was approved to replace three window lintels at the Herrick campus.

The Board approved a Senior Class Trip for April 30 and May 1.

In personnel action, the Cowden-Herrick board accepted Lisa Borries' retirement letter effective at the end of the current school year, reinstated Tony Carlisle as Bridges bus driver, and approved an unpaid leave of absence for Pam Mahaffey through the remainder of the current school year.
