Amber Wehrle was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, one Class 2 felony punishable by up to three to seven years in prison, and two Class 3 felonies punishable by up to two to five years in prison. Raoul's investigators, with the assistance of the Vandalia Police Department, conducted a search of a residence Wednesday and arrested the Wehrles after discovering evidence that they allegedly possessed child pornography. The search was conducted in connection with charges filed March 3 against another Vandalia resident, 44-year-old Ferrell Mason Kissiar. Kissiar has been charged with three counts of disseminating child pornography, two counts of possessing child pornography, and one count of reproducing child pornography. Kissiar's bond is set at $250,000.

The investigation is ongoing, and individuals who have additional information are encouraged to submit a tip to the Vandalia Police Department by phoning 618-283-1986 or contacting the Fayette County Sheriff's Office via Facebook. The Attorney General's office will prosecute the case with the Fayette County State's Attorney Josh Morrison's office.

Vandalia Police Chief Jeff Ray offered thanks to the Attorney General's office for their work on such cases. Ray said, "While we find it appalling that these types of crimes are going on in our communities, it's good to know that there are great people working these cases."
