Special County Board Meeting on Landfill Siting Postponed

The special meeting of the Effingham County Board on siting a solid waste landfill east of Effingham has been postponed.

Rather than this Thursday, the meeting will take place on Thursday, March 18 at 4pm at the County Office Building. 

County Board Chairman Jim Niemann said the delay is due to a scheduling conflict, as an attorney involved in the case and the hearing officer both marked March 18 in their schedules, rather than March 11.

As we reported earlier, no additional testimony will be taken at the meeting.
