Some folks may not be over the November election, but Early Voting is already underway for the Consolidated Election scheduled for April 6.

Many things will be decided in the April balloting, including school board elections, community college board elections, park board elections, township elections including multi-township assessor elections, and many municipal elections, although not in Effingham or Altamont this year.

Early voting is underway in Effingham County at the County Office Building on North 4th Street downtown, on the first floor. Open Registration continues until March 9. You can register online until March 21.

Also, the election Grace Period begins March 10. That's where you can register to vote, but you also have to vote at the time you register.

The Effingham County Clerk's Office oversees elections in the county. You can vote any weekday between 8am and 4pm.
