The Effingham City Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a variance in front yard setbacks for two apartment buildings to be constructed on the city's south end.

Scott Conant plans to develop six apartment buildings, four along Jaycee Avenue and two farther south alongside storage buildings by Four Seasons Mobile Home Park. The variance was needed for the buildings to the south.

Each of the six buildings will contain four apartments. The development will be known as South Town Apartments.
