The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Wednesday reported 2,022 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois.
The State also reported 44 additional deaths, none from area counties.
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from February 17–23, 2021 is 2.8%.
As of Tuesday night, 1,511 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 338 patients were in the ICU and 172 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
The Effingham County Health Department Wednesday announced four new positive test results for COVID-19.
The cases were those of two males and a female in their 20s, and a male in his 70s.
Illinois Region 6 test positivity seven-day rolling average was 3.1% through February 21, and Effingham County came in at 2.5% for the same period.
