Man Charged in Effingham County w/Attempted Murder Also Facing Drug Charges in Jefferson County

The Mt. Vernon man charged in Effingham County with attempted murder Monday has also been arrested in Jefferson County on drug charges.

33-year-old Blake Miller is accused of slitting the throat of 27-year-old Victoria Rhodes of Kell during an altercation at an Altamont residence during the noon hour on Saturday. Rhodes was treated for her injuries and later released, along with her sister who was also injured in the incident.

Miller and 37-year-old Christina Anderson of Bonnie were later arrested after being located in a Mt. Vernon motel. Police say they found drugs in the motel room. After executing a search warrant, quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl and drug equipment were allegedly found. Miller was charged in Jefferson County with possession of 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of heroin with intent to deliver, and was also taken into custody on an Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation warrant.

Anderson was arrested in Jefferson County on counts of obstructing justice and possession of meth with intent to deliver.

Miller was being held in Jefferson County Jail, while Anderson was being held in Effingham County Jail.
