A truck ended up in Lake Paradise in Coles County overnight.

Coles County sheriff's deputies were dispatched at 1:26am to a vehicle with its lights still on in the lake. The pickup truck was reportedly halfway submerged.

Deputies located the truck on its side in the lake at Coles County Roads 150 East and 270 North. The Lincoln Fire Department Dive Team was activated and responded. It was determined that there was no one inside the vehicle, and that the driver and a passenger had left the scene.

The vehicle was removed from the lake. The driver, 19-year-old Connor Alvis, was later located and was cited for DUI, possessing and consuming liquor by a minor, and improper lane usage.

Responding agencies were Coles County Sheriff's Department, Wabash Fire Department, Lincoln Fire Dive Team, and Mitchell-Jerdan Ambulance Service.
