ECHD Reports Four Positive COVID Cases Friday

The Effingham County Health Department Friday announced the COVID-related death of a woman in her 90s, and four new positive test results.

The demographics:

MALE--one in his 30s

FEMALE--one in her 40s, one in her 60s, and one in her 80s.

Illinois Region 6 test positivity seven-day rolling average was 5% through January 26, and Effingham County came in at 5.7% for the same period.

On Friday, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,156 new cases of COVID-19. That includes 71 COVID-related deaths. Those include a male in his 60s from Coles County, a female in her 90s from Effingham County, a male in his 90s from Fayette County, and a male in his 90s from Shelby County.
