Bridgeport Police Chief Arrested

The police chief of Bridgeport was arrested Saturday night in connection with a domestic disturbance.

State police were called to a home in Bridgeport at 10:22pm. An investigation led police to arrest 46-year-old Scott M. Murray on counts of domestic battery and reckless discharge of a firearm. Murray was taken to Lawrence County Jail where he posted bond and was released.

Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and the  Sumner and Bridgeport Police Departments assisted State Police in the investigation. The case has been turned over to the Lawrence County State's Attorney's Office.
