7,377 COVID Cases Reported in Illinois Friday

The Illinois Department of Public Health Friday reported 7,377 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease in the state. 181 deaths related to COVID were reported.
A female older than 100 years old from Effingham County was among one of the COVID-related deaths.
Other COVID-related deaths in the area reported Friday included a male in his 80s and a female in her 90s in Clay County; a male in his 90s in Cumberland County; a male in his 80s in Jasper County; a female in her 50s and two males in their 70s in Marion County; and a male in his 70s in Shelby County. Coles County Health Department reports three COVID-related deaths on Friday.
As of Thursday night, 4,690 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 1,023 patients were in the ICU and 589 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
The State IDPH Mobile COVID-19 Testing Unit returns to Effingham today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be located at the Effingham County Health Department (ECHD), 901 W Virginia Ave, Effingham.
This service is available to anyone seeking testing. No appointment or physician order required. There is no charge to individuals for the COVID testing. Please present insurance card at time of service, however no one will be denied due to having no insurance. There is no fee to you but billing insurance will help pay for the service, allowing more individuals the same opportunity.
