A Missouri man has been sentenced in Fayette County court to prison time on grooming and child pornography charges.

(WESTON)

45-year-old Shelby Weston of Monett, Missouri was found guilty at a bench trial in October of traveling to meet a minor, grooming, and two counts of possession of child pornography. Weston was sentenced by Judge Kimberly Koester Thursday to five years in prison on the traveling to meet a minor charge. He was sentenced to five years in prison on one count of possession of child pornography, three years in prison on the grooming charge, and was placed on four years' probation on the other possession of child pornography charge.

Judge Koester directed that the sentences are to be served consecutively, not at the same time. Weston will be placed on two years' mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

Weston has been in custody in Fayette County Jail in Vandalia since his arrest in 2017.
