35 New Positive COVID-19 Cases in County Wednesday

The Effingham County Health Department announced 35 new positive cases of coronavirus disease in the county on Wednesday.

That included one COVID-related death, that of a man in his 90s.

Here's the breakdown:

MALES--one less than 10 years old; three in their teens; three in their 20s; one in his 30s; four in their 40s; two in their 50s; one in his 60s; four in their 70s

FEMALES--one less than 10 years old; two in their teens; two in their 20s; five in their 30s; two in their 40s; two in their 50s; two in their 60s

Illinois Region 6 test positivity 7-day rolling average is 8.6 % through December 13 and Effingham County is 15.8% for the same period.

The State IDPH Mobile COVID-19 Testing Unit returns to Effingham on Saturday, December 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be located at the Effingham County Health Department (ECHD), 901 W Virginia Ave, Effingham.

This service is available to anyone seeking testing. No appointment or physician order required. There is no charge to individuals for the COVID testing. Please present insurance card at time of service, no one will be denied due to having no insurance. There is no fee to you but billing insurance will help pay for the service, allowing more individuals the same opportunity.
