7,123 New COVID Cases in Illinois Wednesday; 146 Deaths

The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday reported 7,123 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease in the state, including 146 additional deaths.

There were COVID-related deaths in the area; a male in his 90s in Effingham County; a male in his 70s and a female over 100 years old in Clay County; a female in her 80s in Fayette County; and two males in their 70s in Marion County.

As of Tuesday night, 4,793 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 1,045 patients were in the ICU and 590 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
