Brownstown school board members Monday passed their tax levy for the fiscal year, but abated property tax for Series 2020 alternate revenue bond. The Board also approved substitute rates for the remainder of the school year.

Board members approved a new bus lease through Central States Bus Sales, and approved a new contract with elementary principal Martin Son. It was agreed to continue the district's current blended learning plan through the third quarter, and approved the Effingham Regional Career Academy intergovernmental agreement. Also approved was a resolution to approve the Fayette County hazard mitigation plan, and a policy change regarding the quarantine time for COVID-19 contacts.

Brownstown board also conducted a five-year review of board policies, and conducted a first reading of board policy updates, both as recommended by the Illinois Association of School Boards.
