107 New Positive COVID-19 Cases in County Over the Weekend; Two Deaths

The Effingham County Health Department reported 107 new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease for the period from Saturday through Monday.

The numbers include two COVID-related deaths, one of a man in his 80s, the other of a woman in her 90s. That brings the number of COVID-related deaths that have occurred in Effingham County to 41.

The 107 positive cases reported included 16 on Saturday, 26 on Sunday, and 65 on Monday.

Here's the breakdown:

SATURDAY--

Males--one teenager, one in his 20s, two in their 30s, three in their 50s, one in his 60s, and one in his 70s

Females--one less than one year old, one in her 30s, one in her 40s, two in their 60s, one in her 70s, and one in her 90s

SUNDAY--

Males--one less than 10 years old, one teenager, three in their 20s, one in his 30s, three in their 40s, five in their 50s, two in their 60s, one in his 70s, and one in his 80s

Females--one teenager, one in her 20s, two in their 30s, two in their 50s, one in her 60s, and one in her 80s

MONDAY--

Males--two less than 10 years old, four teenagers, four in their 20s, two in their 30s, three in their 40s, four in their 50s, five in their 60s, one in his 70s, and one in his 80s

Females--one less than 10 years old, four teenagers, four in their 20s, seven in their 30s, 10 in their 40s, five in their 50s, two in their 60s, five in their 70s, one in her 80s

Illinois Region 6 rolling test positivity was 9.2% through December 11, while Effingham County was 18.5% for the same period, the first time under 20% in a while.

There were 7,214 new positive COVID cases reported statewide on Monday. That included 103 additional deaths, one in this area, a female in her 80s in Fayette County.
