70 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported by ECHD Wednesday

In addition to five Effingham County deaths previously reported by IDPH Wednesday, Effingham County's Health Department added 70 new positive cases of COVID-19 Wednesday evening.

Here are new positive case demographics:

The 7-day test positivity rolling average for Region 6 is 12% through December 6, with Effingham County at 22.1% for the same period. This is an uptick for the county, which was at 20.7% on Tuesday.

Health officials continue to urge the public to follow safety guidelines to help reduce community spread of the virus, especially as the Christmas holiday draws closer.
