Jim Niemann and Dave Campbell were re-elected Monday to the leadership posts on the Effingham County Board.

Niemann will chair the board for another term, while Campbell will serve as vice-chairman.

Monday's re-organizational meeting was to swear in the five people elected to new terms on the Board, including the two newcomers, Norbert Soltwedel and Elizabeth Huston. Soltwedel and Huston succeed Lloyd Foster and Jeff Simpson, who did not seek re-election. Three incumbents were re-elected without opposition, Rob Arnold, Joe Thoele and John Perry.

Arnold spoke on behalf of the Board to thank Foster and Simpson for their years of service. Foster served for several years, then returned to the Board in recent years, while Simpson served as County Supervisor of Assessments before seeking election to the Board.
