Coles County Child Pornography Case Postponed to December

A Coles County child pornography case has been postponed until December.

42-year-old Jimmy Derixson of Mattoon faces six counts of possession of child pornography, as well as a count of failure to register as a sex offender.

Mattoon police arrested Derixson in May after a tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that he had uploaded child pornography. Derixson was located in June, when his cell phone was seized as part of a court-ordered search warrant. Derixson admitted the cell phone was his, along with a Google account, which he was supposed to register as part of sex offender compliance, however he had not. 

A search of the cell phone revealed images of child pornography.

Derixson was supposed to be in court for a status hearing Monday, but the hearing was continued until December 21.
