170 Positive COVID Cases in County Saturday-Monday; Three Deaths Being Investigated

The Effingham County Health Department Monday announced 170 positive cases of coronavirus disease from Saturday through Monday. The Health Department said three deaths are under investigation as to any ties to COVID. Two of the deaths were announced on Saturday and one on Sunday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

All three of the deaths were females in their 90s.

Of the 170 positive cases, there were 36 on Saturday, 47 on Sunday, and 87 on Monday.

Here's the breakdown:

Saturday--males one less than 10 years old, two teens, three in their 20s, four in their 30s, one in his 40s, two in their 50s, one in his 60s, and two in their 70s; females two less than 10 years old, two in their 20s, one in her 30s, five in their 40s, three in their 50s, four in their 60s, one in her 70s, one in her 80s, and one in her 90s

Sunday--males one less than 10 years old, three in their teens, one in his 20s, two in their 30s, two in their 50s, two in their 60s, and three in their 80s; females two less than 10 years old, one in her teens, three in their 20s, seven in their 30s, eight in their 40s, three in their 50s, seven in their 60s, and two in their 80s

Monday--males six in their teens, five in their 20s, seven in their 30s, four in their 40s, three in their 50s, five in their 60s, three in their 70s, two in their 80s, and one in his 90s; females three less than 10 years old, eight in their teens, 13 in their 20s, nine in their 30s, three in their 40s, eight in their 50s, five in their 60s, one in her 80s, and one in her 90s.

Illinois Region 6 test rolling positivity continues to climb and is now up to 14% through November 13, while Effingham County rolling positivity jumped to 25% for the same period.

In the area, Fayette County reported 81 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, 30 cases confirmed and 51 listed as probable causes. 

Shelby County reported 54 new positive cases over the weekend, 15 each on Saturday and Sunday and 24 new cases on Monday.

Clay County reported 11 new COVID positive cases Monday.

Coles County reported 51 new cases on Monday.

Statewide, 11,632 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois were reported Monday.
