Man Arrested in Mattoon Wanted in Area Counties

A Mattoon man arrested this week in Coles County is also wanted in area counties.

29-year-old Forrest J. Donaldson was arrested by Mattoon City Police on counts of driving on a suspended license and resisting or obstructing a police officer. Police allege Donaldson fled on foot from a traffic stop in Mattoon on Sunday. When officers apprehended him, Donaldson allegedly struggled with attempts to handcuff him.

In running his record, Donaldson was found to be wanted in Effingham County for failing to appear in court for a 2010 burglary case. He is also wanted in Coles County for failing to appear in court for a 2018 forgery case, and is also wanted in Fayette County for failing to appear in court on a 2016 drug case.

Donaldson was being held in Coles County Jail at last report.
