Dieterich school board members Monday allowed time for comments at their meeting for members of the community to comment regarding participation in winter sports.

The Board took no action at this time.

Board members approved the 2020 tentative tax levy, with a vote on the levy at the December meeting. The Board renewed its membership in the Illinois Association of Rural and Small Schools.

During the principal's report, junior-senior high school principal Scott Kocher and elementary principal Josh Benefiel reported that both schools were given the designation of "exemplary" from the Illinois State Board of Education. "Exemplary" is the highest designation the State awards. The principals also reported on parent-teacher conferences that were held October 22-23. The District offered three methods of conferences, in-person, remote via video conference or e-mail/phone call. Percentages of participation were down in the junior-senior high school building, but remained high in the elementary building.

Dieterich board members hired Lindsay Burton as junior high head volleyball coach, approved Rob Zumbahlen as a student teacher for the spring semester of 2021, and approved a counseling internship for Celeste Stombaugh for the 2021-22 school year.
