Vandalia Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

Skyler Henson, 37 of Vandalia, died in a pickup truck-motorcycle crash in the Metro-East.

State Police say Henson was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 140 west of Hamel in Madison County when for an unknown reason his cycle crossed the centerline and ran into the path of a pickup truck driven by 57-year-old James Reagan, Junior of Edwardsville.

Henson was ejected from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison County Coroner.  

Reagan was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation by ISP Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
