Kurt Becker Guest Speaker at Rotary Club

Mike Varady led the Effingham Noon Rotary in the Pledge of Allegiance and Dave Ring led in the prayer.

Throughout the month of October, the Polio Plus donation jar accumulated $450, well exceeding the goal of $300. Thanks to those who donated and thanks to Bev Soltwedel for organizing.

Brian Newswander of Crossroots Church joined as a guest for the second consecutive week.

The Program Chairman was Dave Ring. He introduced Kurt Becker. Kurt is an Altamont native who has spent over 25 years as play-by-play announcer, anchorman, and analyst for some of the largest events in both horse racing and NASCAR. He also serves as announcer for Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auctions. 

Kurt shared how COVID is affecting both the horse racing and NASCAR industries. He also provided us with some very entertaining anecdotes from his experiences.

Mark Wildbur won the 50/50 drawing but could not find the queen. 

Bill Myers is the Program Chairman next week on Veteran's Day.
