Wednesday COVID-19 Numbers

Wednesday the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 7,538 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 55 additional deaths.

The Effingham County Health Department received notice of 31 new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). Marion County has been notified of 52 new positive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Fayette County Health Department reported 26 new confirmed cases for Tuesday and Wednesday. Yesterday Shelby County announced 24 residents have tested positive for Covid-19 and there are two additional deaths. The Coles County Health Department also announced 2 more deaths in the county and 72 new cases on Wednesday.

Health officials continue to urge the public to follow safety guidelines to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. These include wearing face masks, practicing social distancing, and avoiding large gatherings.
