Election Day brought news of 35 new cases of COVID-19 to Effingham County, along with 1 new death attributed to the virus.

The death of a man in his 70s was added to Effingham County's totals by IDPH.

The Shelby County Health Department announced Tuesday twelve county residents have tested positive for Covid-19. Coles County Health Department is reporting 30 confirmed COVID-19 cases along with 4 deaths.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday reported 6,516 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 68 additional deaths.

Health department officials continue to urge the public to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by following safety guidelines - wear a face mask, practice social distancing, and avoiding large groups.
