Sunday the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)  reported 6,980 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 35 additional deaths. 78,000 tests were repoted prior to Sunday's report. The confirmed cases and tests admistered numbers are down slighly from record highs for the state recorded last week.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from October 25 – October 31 was 8.0%.

State Public Health officials say the last remaining region, region 4,  will begin stricter mitigations wednesday result of rising COVID-19 numbers. Those mitigation factors include no indoor seating at bars or restaurants with a closing time of 11 pm and no gatherings of more than 25 people or 25-percent of a facilities capacity. The same mitigations began in region 6 today which is our area.
