Another One Day Record Set for Covid-19 Cases

Illinois set another record for the third day in a row for one day number of COVID-19 cases on Saturday, with 7,889 reported along with 46 new deaths. The Saturday total breaks the old record set on Friday of 6,943 cases and the Thursday record of 6,363 cases. Over 92,000 tests were administered.

The deaths recorded on Saturday include a female in her 90s in Wayne County. The death is the 19th in Wayne County. The report also includes two Marion County deaths reportedly locally by the health department on Friday of a male and female in their 70s.

The East Central Illinois Region is now at 9-percent positivity, up four-tenths of a percent from Friday.
