Aaron M. Kaiser, 37, of Beecher City, has been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison as he was convicted of concealment of a homicidal death in August. Kaiser was credited with 185 days for time served in the Effingham County Jail. When released he will also have a year of mandatory supervised release.

Christopher E. Glass, 36, of Mason, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of concealing a homicidal death in the killing of 29-year-old Kimberly A. Mattingly, of Paris. Glass has a pre-trial hearing set for Nov. 12 and a jury trial set for Nov. 23.

Kaiser concealed the death of Mattingly by helping to hide the body and then lying to police.

The mother of the victim, Gena Holbrook, gave a tearful statement and asked judge Allan Lolie to impose the maximum sentence of 10 years for Kaiser’s crime.

When Kaiser was given the chance to address the court he simply stated “I’d just like to say that I’m sorry.”
