Effingham Health Covid 

On the heels of new COVID-19 mitigation restrictions for our area, the Effingham County Health Department received notice of thirty-three new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). Shelby County reported 23 new cases. Coles County reported 60 new cases. The Fayette County Health Department is reporting seven new cases. The Marion County Health Department also reported 30 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday. The Clay County Health Department reported nine new cases late Thursday night. 

The Illinois public health officials announce 6,943 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease and new daily testing high of 95,111 on Friday.

The State IDPH Mobile COVID-19 Testing Unit will return to Effingham on Sunday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be located at the Effingham County Health Department (ECHD), 901 W Virginia Ave, Effingham.

This service is available to anyone seeking testing. No appointment or physician order required. There is no charge to individuals for COVID-19 testing. Please present an insurance card at time of service, no one will be denied due to having no insurance.

The Effingham County Health Department asks everyone to do their part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 by masking up properly, washing hands regularly, maintaining 6ft social distancing, and avoiding large groups.
