Effingham County Adds 20 New Cases of COVID-19 Thursday

The Effingham County health department received word of 20 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday. Fayette County Health Department is reporting 19 new confirmed cases. Coles County reported 40 new cases. Shelby County added 14 cases and Marion County has 38 new cases. 

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Thursday reported 6,363 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 56 additional deaths.

1029 Effingham COVID 47 cases

The health department continues to ask the public to assist in reducing the spread of COVID-19 by following safety guidelines, including wearing face masks, washing hands frequently, maintaining 6 ft social distancing, and avoiding large groups.

The State IDPH Mobile COVID-19 Testing Unit will return to Effingham on Sunday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be located at the Effingham County Health Department (ECHD), 901 W Virginia Ave, Effingham.
