Fatal Crash in Clark County Monday Night

One person was killed and another was injured in a crash in Clark County Monday night.

The driver of the car, 29-year-old Levi Powers of Martinsville, was killed in the crash, which occurred at 10:16pm on Mill Street, just south of US Route 40 in Martinsville.

State police report Powers' car was traveling south on Mill Street when it left the roadway to the right. The car struck two trees before coming to rest. Powers, who authorities say was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Clark County Coroner Jeff Pearce pronounced Powers dead at the scene of the crash.

A passenger, 33-year-old Justin Clark of Martinsville, was airlifted from the scene for treatment of what were termed non-life threatening injuries.
