The St. Elmo Board of Education Thursday amended their instruction plans during the pandemic.

The Board approved a return to in-person instruction at the junior high and high school levels for four days a week, with the fifth day each week for remote learning. The plan will begin on Monday, November 2.

The Board also approved a return to in-person instruction at the elementary school for five days a week, still utilizing the previously-scheduled remote learning days on October 30 and November 20.

Board members also approved allowing students choosing the remote learning option to return to in-person instruction on the 1st and 15th of each month.

The Board had heard from a group of parents at a previous meeting who requested a change in the guidelines that had been in place.

Also Thursday, St. Elmo board members approved Jessica Mathis as a Pre-K teacher, and approved Lucas Watson as a full-time temporary remote learning teacher.
